About Falb Fee Quail
Falb (pronounced “fab” as in fabulous!) Fee quail are a rare color variation of the Wild/Brown/Pharaoh. They carry the fee gene, which takes out the brown undertones so you get a more “black and white” or washed-out color than the Wild – see video below.
Falb fees:
- are large for a standard-size quail
- are good, consistent layers
- have a longer production lifespan
- are feather sexable, which means that you don’t have to wait for chicks to reach maturity to identify their gender. At 3 weeks old, feather-sexable females have spotted chests, males have solid-colored chests. That means you can select your breeding groups and separate extra males before they reach maturity, which can prevent incidents of aggression!
