Jumbo White Wings weigh slightly less than our Jumbo Wilds (1.2 oz less at butchering age), and they produce about the same number of eggs per year. But what sets them apart is their egg weight. Our other jumbos lay eggs that weigh about 14.5 grams, but our White Wing eggs average 15.2 grams! So if you like larger/heavier eggs, this jumbo variety is for you. Jumbo White Wings also have the advantage of being feather-sexable – see details below.

About Jumbo White Wing 

Jumbo White Wing quail  are most commonly raised for meat – see video below for examples. They are feather sexable, which means that you don’t have to wait for chicks to reach maturity to identify their gender. At 3 weeks old, feather-sexable females have spotted chests, males have solid-colored chests. That means you can select your breeding groups and separate extra males before they reach maturity, which can prevent incidents of aggression!
