About Jumbo Egyptian Quail
Jumbo Egyptian quail have a feather pattern identical to Jumbo Wilds, but they carry the roux (redhead) gene, so their feather color is slightly redder – see examples in the video below.
Jumbo Egyptians are feather-sexable, which means that you don’t have to wait for chicks to reach maturity to identify their gender. At 3 weeks old, feather-sexable females have spotted chests, males have solid-colored chests. This allows you to select your breeding groups and separate extra males before they reach maturity, which can prevent incidents of aggression!
Better yet, you can use Jumbo Egyptians to create sex-link chicks, whose gender can be identified immediately at hatch! See video below.
