About Our Fee Mix
Fee quail are a color variation of the Wild/Pharaoh that carry the fee gene. This gene is responsible for feather color. Instead of having vibrant brown or red undertones, fee quail will have a more faded, almost black-and white look. Our fees:
- are large for a standard-size quail
- are good, consistent layers
- have a longer production lifespan
- are feather sexable, which means that you don’t have to wait for chicks to reach maturity to identify their gender. At 3 weeks old, feather-sexable females have spotted chests, males have solid-colored chests. That means you can select your breeding groups and separate extra males before they reach maturity, which will prevent incidents of aggression!
