About Celadon Quail
Celadons are Coturnix quail that carry the celadon gene, which is responsible for the beautiful blue color of their eggs. Our Celadons are TRUE BLUE, meaning that they breed true and will carry the celadon gene 100% of the time. However, to get this gene to pass down to your own chicks, you’ll need to ONLY breed celadons to celadons. BOTH the mother and the father need to carry the gene for it to be passed on. So if you breed a celadon mother to a non-celadon father, their chick won’t carry the gene. But if both parents have the gene, the chicks will carry it on!
