Our Farm

Set on 30 acres, we have 3 pastures and 10 acres of woods. We support 3 generations of our family here. The nine of us have worked the farm together since 2011. We take an all natural approach and are working toward self sufficiency. We are currently using solar energy for our greenhouse and quail barn. We don’t use any chemicals in the garden, and have switched over to sustainable meat sources, which includes our beloved quail. Along with our thousands of quail, we raise Angus cows, goats, Kunekune pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, emu, bees, 1 peacock named Bert, and Madison’s horse Cisco. Last, but not least, our many Great Danes. Read our full story here.

Our Passion & Mission

Our priority is to be self-sufficient and provide a safe and healthy environment for our family. To do that, we have established our quail farm business. Our philosophy is the more we help others start their self-sufficient adventure, the more we can grow in ours. Our mission is to “educate, encourage, and enthuse” so that we can all have a better tomorrow.

Our Family

Zack Greene is a wonderful husband and father of 5. He started full-time quail farming in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. He is passionate about teaching others about quail and has started a Youtube channel to do just that! He handles day-to-day operations and customer orders.

Dennis “Papa” Moore is the brains for the logistics of building and infrastructure. He builds everything from custom cages, to large quail barns and everything in-between. Taking all our ideas and making them a reality. He is passionate about self sufficient farming practices.

Jenna Greene is a wife and mother of 5. She homeschools her children while teaching herself how to farm. She loves all things green and living. She manages office stock, and shipping eggs and live quail orders.

Cathy “Mimi” Moore is in charge of canning and food storage. Her passion is for teaching Sunday school and heads up the Christian education department at our church.

We have 5 wonderful children. Ashley 21, Allysa 19, Dereon 14, Trenton 13, and Madison 12. The younger kids are involved in day-to-day activities and help with everything from harvesting and meat processing to egg collection.

  5. I have heard the whites are more flighty and are more prone to picking each other. Do you find this to be true? Are the tuxedos as mellow as the standard colored jumbos? Are they a similar size? When will you be ready to ship (estimate) this year?

    1. They are all about the same. Our wilds are the most flighty. Our jumbo wilds average 14oz and our whites are 10oz. All colors range from 9-9.5oz. We will be ready to ship April 1st

  6. Can you tell me shipping cost to Williamsburg, MI 49690?
Is shipping the same for hatching eggs or breeding sets?
Finally, what is the fertilization/hatching rate of hatching eggs?

    1. We guarantee a 50% hatch rate but we are averaging a 66% this year. Also shipping for eggs is around $15 and live quail shipping is around $46

    1. Because Monday was a holiday everything was backed up a couple days because we could not ship late last week or Monday but typically 5 business days is our goal

  14. Place my first order. Super excited and cant wait for them to get here.

    1. That is great to hear good luck and keep us posted

  15. I just ordered my first set of eggs, it only asked for a physical address so I assume it will be delivered by UPS?

    1. It will be shipped USPS. Congrats on the order I will get them out as soon as I can

  16. I ordered 110 Jumbo Wild hatching eggs and received them with 10 extra on March 2, 2020. I expected to hatch out about 60. On March 20th, exactly 100 hatched! Interesting, one appeared to be an Egyptian hen in the group. Unfortunately, she died in about 5 days for unknown reasons. We also had one with splayed legs who didn’t make it. The remaining 98 are doing great and growing like crazy! I couldn’t be happier with the results! Thanks for the high quality of your hatching eggs!

    1. That’s great and CONGRATS!!!!!

  17. I’m from VA and was wanting live birds. when you get the I woud like to purchase many

  20. I’m going on vacation for the fourth of July, and I would rather not have any eggs in my incubator while I’m gone. If I ordered the rare variety coturnix quail eggs how long would it before they are shipped out to me (I live in North Carolina)? Would it be a week or two? Or more like a month before I get them? I would just like to plan this out so that I know if I will be able to hatch them out before I leave, or if I should wait until after then to order/incubate them.

    1. It would take around a week to a week and a half right now

  21. Wow jack you have big healthy quail in your farm and you are great offer this week giveaway prices and thanks.

  22. I would love to be entered in the contest for some free eggs. I have the regular coturnix quail and would love to add some color to my quail. Plan on ordering some soon.

  23. I bought a breeder set of jumbo wilds, i live in Dayton and was able to pick them up,I was new to quail and only had a little information about what I needed to do to raise them and zack was really helpful, even after I bought them and got home I messaged him and he gave me the help I needed. I would recommend anyone who is trying to get into quail. Your videos helped me out along the way also. Thank you

  24. Easy to do business with fast shipping no broke eggs love the way the packing was!

  25. Please enter me in your August contest for your free eggs.. while I visit your site quite often and try to never miss 1 of your videos because well you know so darn much about quail.. i have to be honest and say I have never purchased any of your eggs … yet.. i wanted to get used to the incubators .. how they work etc… so i have been practicing on local quail eggs.. i think after many successful hatches of 50 % or more hatxh rate i am about ready to order myshire eggs… i love the information you just put out there for all to follow.. thanks again and please keep the videos coming

  26. I just want to say how delighted I’ve been working with you. I’ve ordered both a breeder set and hatching eggs. Both times I was impressed by the quick communication and shipping. Eggs and birds arrived healthy and intact and I ended up with much more hatching than I expected from shipped eggs. Thank you for providing such great customer service and excellent birds!

  27. Just received our order of 110 jumbo eggs. Can’t wait to place them into the incubator and see them hatch! Wish we didn’t have to wait. I won’t hesitate to order more eggs. Awesome service, packaging, price, and shipping.

  28. You guys are great, I’ve ordered both eggs and quail from you in the past just to add color to my flock, I don’t miss a video. Very professional and fast when it comes to shipping, definitely number #1.

  29. Would love to add more eggs to add to what I have already ordered. I have stage 4 colon cancer and the birds keep me moving to take care of them. Thanks you guys from South Alabama

  30. We’re first time purchasers from your site! I was very skeptical at first with ordering from a site because of all the bad reviews from other sites but I’m glad I took a chance. They arrived quickly, safely and absolutely beautiful eggs! Great hatch rate especially with this being our first hatch. Im pleased with my order and will absolutely get more.

  31. Hello just heard about your company I have just moved to a new home with some land and will be getting some quails, please enter me to your contest hopefully I win but either way will probably order from you anyway keep up the good videos

  32. I am amazed at how generous you are with your time, talents, and information- Thank you for that!
This is a small order but wondering if you have any Jumbo males, or Jumbo eggs available at this time (anywhere from 2-6 would be perfect).

    1. We will have jumbo eggs back on our website this Friday at 1pm EST

  33. I was hoping to get an update on order #38072.

    1. It was shipped out on Saturday. Should arrive tomorrow for you

  34. Eggs got here on the 8th and they are incubating very well. I ordered the snowy quails. How do i tell the difference between male and female once they hatch

    1. You can feather sex most of them at 3 weeks old and best of lucj

  35. Thank you! And what is the difference between the male and female snoweys? Because there isnt both a male and female picture on the site for the snowey. Do the males have a darker set of feathers somewhere on the body or can I only tell with the foam trick on these ones?

    1. They need to be vent sexed it is hard to tell. But yes the darker head is a giceaway

  36. Day 18 and the babies are coming out great got 4 so far. The first one I got out when I heard it chirping and put it in the brooder. I probably should have waited at least 12 hours but the others I’m going to leave in until tomorrow. The second one came out with the yolk sac stuck to it. I think it fell off but I’m still watching closely. I hope they all make it. Do you guys think the one with the yolk will live?

    1. Best of luck and just make sure they are dry before you open the incubator

  37. So far 8 quails, one of them appear to be albino, its light colored all around and has pinkish red eyes and all the others have black. Does that spell albino in the quail world?

    1. Yes very cool. Best of lucj

  38. Hi when is the soonest I can order a set of quail (male and some hens) for Spring delivery in WI.
    Thanks much?
    Deb

    1. It will be a few months before I have any live quail available I am sorry for the inconvenience

  39. Ordered 50 quail eggs in February, received 60 eggs a couple weeks later. Out of the 60, 45 of them hatched and thankfully all survived without any issues. Thanks Myshire.

    1. That is awesome congrats

  40. Will I be receiving a confirmation email for my order? Also, how soon after ordering are the quail eggs shipped?

    1. Eggs are shipped 2-3 weeks after order is placed during spring. And yes we send an email with confirmation and another email with tracking when shipped

  41. I am 12 and would like to know when egg shipments pick up, I am planning on getting some and don’t want to end up waiting to long to order, and not be able to, due to them being out of stock or something like that. I want to wait until it is cooler but i don’t want to wait to long. also could I get more info on the 18 and under contest, if it is still an ongoing thing that is. I love quail and have 4 at the moment, but I need more as I can’t get enough eggs out of my 3 hens, for selling eggs to friend’s, my mom said we need to wait til’ its cooler, but for the same reason that is above, I would be glad to know. I appreciate it! thanks!

    1. hello! We have eggs available to ship currently and are excepting 18 and under applications as well. You just need to submit a short bio about yourself and why you want quail to zack@myshirefarm.com to enter 🙂 Hope to ship to you soon!

  42. Can you believe we just found y’all? Just wanted to stop by and say a HUGE – ” THANK YOU!!” for all your videos! We’ve been doing quail(by the 1000’s) for over a year. We got “snowflake”(coturnix) Quail at the auction, and that set us on a whole different journey- which was sorta like walking through wet cement – ’til we found you guys(like…last week).THANK YOU!- and BECAUSE, you guys put out all the information, we WILL BE ordering from YOU; because you treat us like an investment, instead of a number. Very much appreciate this quality, and the apparent quality of your birds. Looking forward to ordering! THANK YOU MYSHIRE FARM!

  43. Thanks, Zach, for your informative videos. We watch repeatedly. Although I raise California Valley Quail (sold about 9,000 eggs so far this year) many of your Q&As and videos are very helpful.
    A couple of questions:

Do you worry about lice and mites? If so, how do you treat your birds? I would prefer something to add to the water because my birds are in large flight pens (100′ x 60′ and it’s not that easy to catch them! I have about 600 birds. I have no reason to think they have either lice or mites, but one never knows!

How do you get your shipping boxes? The #7, large mailing boxes, are no longer available through the USPS website, and all of the eight Post Office locations I’ve visited say they can no longer order the boxes. I am so jealous when I see the stacks and stacks of boxes you have in your videos, using them as tops to your brooder cages, and using them to delivery your Buluts. I have to buy my shipping boxes.

    Again, thanks so much

    1. You can put DE with sand in the cage and that helps with mites and lice but knock on wood we have not had that issue. If you call the 1800 PO number they can supply you with #7 boxes

  44. Wow got the eggs the same week I ordered! I’m very impressed!!!!
    Thanks..Liz from paisley fl.
