About Jumbo Wild Quail

**Watch video below to see examples of our Jumbo Wild quail**
Jumbo Wilds (also known as Jumbo Brown or Jumbo Pharaoh) are most commonly raised for meat. They are feather sexable, which means that you don’t have to wait for chicks to reach maturity to identify their gender. At 3 weeks old, feather-sexable females have spotted chests, males have solid-colored chests. That means you can select your breeding groups and separate extra males before they reach maturity, which can prevent incidents of aggression!

I ordered from zack and his wife last year . I had a great hatch rate , and the best part is that they go the extra mile to help you. Zack answered all my questions and offered great customer service. The jumbo wilds are amazing , and when they say they weigh as much as 16 oz , that is the truth. Awsome birds … keep it up myshire farms you are great…..

I bought from Zack after a rather long conversation. He took the time to answer all the questions of a first-time quail hatcher.
I got a 60% hatch rate on Jumbo Wilds even with all my rookie mistakes.
    I highly recommend MyShire Farms

A quail egg hatching beginner here. I bought 30 Jumbo Wild eggs. Twenty-two eggs hatched and all of the chicks are thriving. The other 8 may not have been fertile, as no there was no development. Everything about this experience (ordering, shipping, hatch rate, and chick health) has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend My Shire Farm!

Great to hear. Glad you are happy

I ordered 120 Jumbo eggs, and received an extremely well packed box with thick layered foam padding. Every egg arrived in perfect condition. These were large eggs weighing as much as 18g, which actually was larger than the holes in the quail racks of my turner could hold. Had to get creative with some of the egg placement. Despite my inexperience at hatching and some intial problems keeping the temperature steady, 75/120 eggs hatched. I am very pleased.

Great Birds. 70% hatch rate with these. Highly recommend that when you are getting into quail to order these.

I just got my shipment of wild jumbo hatching eggs in today. Wow, they were very well packed! It took a while to get here, but I am happy with how safe the packaging was. As per instruction sheet, I will let them rest 12-24 hrs to settle. So, so excited! Only one egg was cracked, but that is okay, I ordered 25, and Myshire Farms sent 30! Thank you so very much! I will post an update after hatching.

Halfway through the hatch, my son’s cat knocked the incubator off the table to the ground. There was a foot and a half drop. All said and done, I have 8 beautiful chicks from the 29 eggs. I’m devastated, but the chicks that I did get from this hatch seem very healthy and very active. <3

My Jumbo Wilds turn 10 weeks old in just 5 day and not a single egg yet, should I be worried? I have 8 hens and all look healthy and happy but no eggs yet.

We ordered 25 hatching eggs beginning of this year and they sent us 30. Which was greatly appreciated. We had 22 out of the 30 that were fertile but only 20 hatched. Not sure what happened with those two. We cut the eggs open on day 21 to see and we believe the air cell was just too small because they never pipped. So don’t believe they were shrink wrapped. So our order had a 66% hatch rate. Also plan on ordering again in the future. We were very pleased with our first batch. They hatched on 5/1/23-5/2/23. Oh and one was almost all black. Not sure why or what that means but excited to see if the colors change when it’s older too.

My first hatch will go into grow-out cages Sunday. I got 120 eggs, which was more than my incubator could handle, but no eggs went to waste… The hatch rate was great (I did not calculate it, but it had to be over 90%.) The Jumbos do grow amazingly fast. I will be initially keeping a small self-sustaining flock; keeping breeding/egg pen and growing out meat birds while I can power incubators and brooders on “free” solar power. I will stop the meat/incubating during fall-winter and start over in spring.

Very pleased with Myshire’s service, product, and knowledge base. Good folks and businesses like this are, unfortunately, rare in these times.
    Thank you!

I live in SC and I have purchased hundreds of jumbo wilds eggs over the years and continue to do so to ensure the quality of my flock and renewing of bloodline. I have had excellent experience ordering, hatching, and raising their birds. I will be ordering another batch very soon. Highly recommend everyone give Myshire Farm a chance you will not be disappointed.
